After an eagerly awaited 13 years, director James Cameron makes a comeback with the sequel to 'Avatar,' delivering a powerful environmental message
In the sequel, 'Avatar: The Way of Water,' the spotlight is on the lives of two characters, Jake Sully (portrayed by Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (portrayed by Zoe Saldana). Now parents of five, they endeavor to protect their family from new threats on Pandora. Seeking sanctuary with the Metkayina tribe beneath the ocean, they learn the art of survival underwater. The ensemble cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet
In contrast to the first film that raised questions about human greed in exploitation projects, the sequel explores ocean exploitation

Speaking at a press conference on 12/09 (local time) at Conrad Seoul, Director Cameron expressed, 'I believe this film is, first and foremost, an adventure. It's a family story and an emotional one—a love letter to family and how family makes you stronger'
'This is not a film that overwhelms you with its message, but it asks you to appreciate the ocean and then, perhaps, turn that into action,' added Director Cameron
Meanwhile, actress Saldana elaborates on how the film conveys the complexity of family: 'Jake and Neytiri love each other in the first film, so it's evident that the first film tells a love story. The natural progression of Jake and Neytiri is them starting a family, raising children in a time of war and significant upheaval. You can still find joy in teaching the kids survival skills. James wants to explore the theme of the harmony and complexity of families'.
Actor Worthington reveals that he sees 'Avatar 2' as a simple story of a man trying to protect his culture, planet, and family.
'Personally, I would do anything for my family and my sons,' said Worthington.
