If you're someone who uses YouTube daily, knowing the integrated shortcut keys can save you a lot of time and effort. In this article, Software Tricks will introduce you to the handy YouTube shortcut keys.

1. Detailed YouTube Shortcut Keys
Pause/ Resume Video: You can utilize two shortcut keys for this feature. Either press Space (the spacebar) or key K to Pause/ Resume the video.
Toggle Video Sound: Instead of clicking on the Speaker icon, use key M to quickly mute/ unmute the audio.
Adjust Video Volume: Usually, when adjusting the volume, you have to click and drag the slider. Instead, press arrow up/ down keys to increase or decrease the volume.
Note: If you are not in full-screen mode, you need to click on the video before using arrow keys for volume control. Otherwise, it will scroll the webpage.
View Video in Full-screen: Press key F to watch the video in full-screen mode.
Exit Full-screen Video: If you no longer want to watch the video in full-screen, press key ESC to return to default mode.
Watch Video in Cinema Mode: If you want to watch a large-sized video (not full-screen) with a black cinema-like interface on Youtube, press key T.
Note: To exit Cinema Mode, press key T again.
Seek to the Beginning: To rewind the video to the start, press either key Home or key 0.
Navigate to Specific Segments: YouTube automatically divides your video into 10 segments (from 0 to 9). To navigate to a specific segment, simply press the corresponding number key, each number corresponds to a segment in the video timeline.
For example: Pressing the number 5 will navigate to 50% of the video's duration. Specifically, if you are watching a 60-minute video, pressing the number 5 will take you to the 30th minute.
Seek Video by 5 seconds/ 10 seconds: If you need to explore specific parts of the video and want to review more precisely, seeking by 5 seconds/ 10 seconds is the most effective. Press the right arrow key to forward by 5 seconds and the left arrow key to rewind by 5 seconds. Similarly, with the keys J and L, you can seek by 10 seconds with each press.
Seek to the End of the Video: If you no longer want to watch the video, press the End key to seek to the last part. If you are watching a video in a playlist, it will automatically play the next video.
Switch to the Next Video: To move on to the next video, press the Shift + N combination. If you are watching a video in a playlist, it will switch to the next video in the playlist. If you are watching a default video, it will move on to the next suggested video.
Go back to the Previous Video: To go back to the previous video, press the Shift + P combination. However, this only works when you are watching a video in a playlist.
Minimize Video for Browsing YouTube: If you have used Facebook, you might be familiar with the feature where scrolling down automatically minimizes the video to a corner. This feature works similarly, allowing you to watch the video while reading comments. Press the I key to minimize the video again.
Turn on Subtitles: For videos with subtitles, simply press the C key to enable subtitles.
