Sky Mavis, the developer behind Axie Infinity, has announced a pivot towards developing the free-to-play version called Origin.
Sky Mavis, the creator of Axie Infinity, commits to focusing on the free-to-play Origin version.
Sky Mavis plans to close the Axie Infinity Classic version (also known as Axie Infinity V2) following the end of its 21st season on June 24.

Axie Infinity recently announced the closure of the 'Classic' version to concentrate on the 'Origin' free-to-play version.
Following the shutdown, Sky Mavis will continue the development of the free-to-play Axie Infinity Origin to unleash its full potential.
The closure of Axie Infinity's 'Classic' version aligns with a notable decline in user engagement. Currently, the daily player count has dropped to just 10,000, a mere fraction compared to over 1 million in mid-2021, the game's peak period.

False advertisements have led to a nearly $10 million fine for Samsung. There's an urgent warning to uninstall harmful apps from smartphones. The iPhone 14 leaks suggest a valuable upgrade, though the iPhone 14 Max may fall short compared to its predecessor.
In a separate development, Sky Mavis is set to reopen the Ronin bridge on June 28. This bridge is a key link between Axie Infinity and the Ethereum mainnet, which suffered a significant hack, leading to a loss of $622 million in assets, including 173,600 ETH and 25.5 million USDC, marking one of the largest cryptocurrency heists in history.

Following the hack's discovery, Sky Mavis deactivated the Ronin bridge and shifted to Binance's infrastructure for Axie Infinity transactions. The leading exchange also spearheaded a $150 million fundraising effort to help Sky Mavis address the damages. The company assures that users' assets on the Ronin Network will be fully restored once the bridge is operational again. 'If users owned 1 ETH in March, they could withdraw 1 ETH from the network after the Ronin bridge reopens,' stated a Sky Mavis representative to Bloomberg.
