The renowned travel section of the Telegraph newspaper (UK) has just unveiled a list of 11 cable car routes that will leave you awestruck around the world, with Bà Nà Cable Car in Da Nang securing the 3rd position.
1. Bolivia
Topping this list is the recently inaugurated cable car in Bolivia, hailed as the world's highest. This cable car takes passengers from the capital La Paz, situated at an altitude of 3,660 meters above sea level, to near El Alto. The journey between these two cities takes just about half an hour, with ticket prices at 3 bolivianos.

2. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Since 1912, a cable car has been ascending to the 396-meter summit of Sugarloaf Mountain, offering passengers a charming panorama along Rio's coastline to Niteroi and Corcovado. This cable car route has since been expanded.

3. Bà Nà, Vietnam
This is the world's longest single-wire cable car route, connecting the scenic beauty of Vong Nguyet Hill to Ba Na Mountain, spanning over 3 miles. In Vietnam, there's another cable car route under construction in Sapa, ascending to the peak of Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina.

4. Mount Stanserhorn, Switzerland
The journey to the summit of Mount Stanserhorn via cable car covers 1,900 meters and takes about 8 minutes.

5. Cape Town, South Africa
Ascending 765 meters to the top of Table Mountain, tourists can ride the Cape Town cable car in just 5 minutes. The cable car cabin rotates to allow passengers to enjoy the surrounding scenery in panoramic style.

6. Merida, Venezuela
Until this cable car route closed for upgrades in 2008, it held the title of the world's longest and highest cable car route, stretching 3,200 meters from Plaza las Heroínas in Merida (at an altitude of 1,577 meters) to Pico Espejo (at an altitude of 4,765 meters), covering over 8 miles. The journey took about 1 hour, and due to the high altitude, oxygen had to be provided in the cabins and at the mountaintop. This cable car route is set to reopen later this year.

7. Genting Highlands, Malaysia
This is the fastest cable car route in the world, reaching speeds of 13.6 miles per hour.

8. Klein Matterhorn, Switzerland
This is the highest cable car route in Europe, connecting Zermatt to Klein Matterhorn at 3,883 meters.

9. Banff, Canada
From Banff to Sulphur Mountain, visitors can admire the rocky mountains from an altitude of 2,281 meters.

10. Hong Kong
The Ngong Ping cable car ride takes 25 minutes, crossing Lantau Island, allowing visitors to visit Po Lin Monastery and the 34-meter-tall Buddha statue.

11. Queenstown, New Zealand
Taking guests to the top of Bob's Peak, where visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery of Lake Wakatipu.
