Starting September 1st, Bamboo Airways has been granted standard flight slots (takeoffs and landings) for direct routes from Ho Chi Minh City to San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Bamboo Airways is the second Vietnamese airline to be granted standard direct flight slots to the United States after Vietnam Airlines. Consequently, the flight time will be reduced to approximately 15-16 hours instead of over 20 hours due to bypassing transits in other countries. The airline plans to operate regular direct flights using Boeing Dreamliner 787-9 aircraft.

In San Francisco, Bamboo Airways lands at 10 AM (local time) and takes off again at 1 PM. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, the airline lands at 9:30 AM and takes off again at 12:30 PM.

Being granted permission by the U.S. and Vietnamese authorities for direct flight slots to major international airports in the United States contributes to affirming the operational capability, safety standards, and service quality of Bamboo Airways, as well as Vietnamese aviation.

Upon completion, this process will enable Bamboo Airways to organize flights transporting passengers (including experts, foreign investors, Vietnamese citizens), goods from Vietnam to the United States, and cargo from the United States to Vietnam upon approval by the Prime Minister, relevant ministries, and sectors.
