Modes of Transportation
You can bring your furry companion on board through the following 2 modes:
Transportation in Cargo Hold (AVIH)
Transporting pets as checked baggage applies under the following conditions:
- Types of Flights: Regular flights and chartered flights
- Types of Aircraft:
- Domestic: Embraer aircraft
- International: Boeing B787 aircraft.
- Applicable Flight Routes:
- Domestic: Hanoi – Con Dao/ Rach Gia/ Dien Bien, Con Dao - Vinh/ Da Nang, Saigon – Dien Bien, … and vice versa.
- International: Routes operated only by Boeing B787 aircraft.
Transportation in Passenger Cabin (PETC)
The conditions for transporting pets in the passenger cabin of Bamboo Airways are as follows:
- Applicable Flight Routes: All routes operated by the airline
- Applicable Aircraft Types: All types of aircraft operated by the airline
- Applicable Ticket Classes: Business class and Economy class
- Applicable Flight Routes: Only applicable for NON-STOP flights, not applicable for connecting flights.
Transportation Conditions
Health Conditions of Companion Animals
- At least 10 weeks old
- Ensure good health
- No unpleasant odor
- Not of aggressive dog breeds
- Friendly towards humans, without impacting other passengers, animals, and luggage.
- Not pregnant.
Companion animals must meet health conditions when transported by air
Conditions for Transport Crates
- Dimensions: Cage should match the size of the companion animal's body, spacious enough for them to move around
- Design:
- Well-ventilated and secure cage, ensuring animals cannot escape on their own
- The interior design of the cage should not harm the companion animal during transportation.
- The cage's bottom should be made of hard, waterproof materials, avoiding cold air from below
- For cages with wheels, the wheels must be removed or folded before the flight to prevent movement.
- Transport cages must be equipped with water and food containers for the pet
- Material:
- Bird transport cages must be surrounded by transparent fabric during the entire flight
- Dog transport cages must be made of hard material, wooden cages are not accepted for transportation.
- Cat transport cages can be made of wood.
- Number of Animals/ Cages: Each animal is confined to one cage, except for companion birds which may be paired in one cage.

Restrictions on Transport Conditions
During transportation, factors such as temperature, harsh weather conditions, ... can affect the health of companion animals. Therefore, in cases of extreme heat or cold weather, Bamboo Airways will refuse to transport companion animals to ensure safety.
Below is a list of animals that you are not allowed to bring on board Bamboo Airways:

Other Conditions
- If transporting pets in the passenger cabin, you need to bring special tools to deodorize, clean feces, and urine for the pet
- Companion animals must remain in the cage throughout the flight, except when cleaning them in the locked lavatory.
- If the flight time exceeds 12 hours, you will have to prepare water yourself and ensure it does not spill.
- Pets must be fed at least 4 to 6 hours before the flight.
Procedures for transporting companion animals with Bamboo Airways
Pre-flight Preparation
- Book the pet transportation service at least 24 hours before departure
- Contact to book the service through various channels: Hotline or Bamboo Airways' Main Ticket Offices
- Ensure compliance with regulations regarding the type of companion animal, weight, health, and transport crate:
+ For transportation in cargo hold
- Animal Types: dogs, cats, birds
- Number of Animals: each passenger is allowed a maximum of 03 animals
- Maximum Weight: 32kg (including crate). If exceeded, must be transported as cargo.
- Total Crate Dimensions: maximum 203cm in all three dimensions.
+ For transportation in passenger cabin
- Animal Types: dogs, cats.
- Number of Animals: Each passenger is allowed a maximum of 02 animals, Business class passengers are allowed a maximum of 01 animal.
- Maximum Weight: 10kg (including crate/bag). If exceeded, must be transported as cargo.
- Maximum Crate/Bag Dimensions: 50cm (length) x 40cm (width) x 95cm (height).

- Prepare all necessary documents as required, such as: export/import permits, inspection certificates, health certificates, vaccination records, and other required documents by the destination country/region.
- Ensure all documents are valid and endorsed by the relevant authorities.

- Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure to complete check-in procedures with your pet.
