The VIth edition of the mountain climbing challenge to conquer Lao Than Peak is organized at the district level and has attracted a diverse group of participants, including tourists and locals from both within and outside the district, aged 16 and above. This activity aims to promote, advertise, and introduce the tourism products of Bat Xat, specifically, and the province of Lao Cai in general, to attract visitors to experience the landscape and culture of this place. At the same time, it responds to the nationwide movement to improve physical fitness following the example of the great Uncle Ho, aiming to enhance community health and awareness of environmental protection.

The Route to Conquer Lao Than Peak
The participants in the competition are Vietnamese citizens living and working legally in agencies, units, armed forces, and businesses in communes, towns, and localities within and outside Bat Xat district. The individual competition covers a distance of 9km, with a natural incline starting from the foot of the mountain at Hoa Loi Company, Phin Ho village, Y Ty commune, Bat Xat, and the finish line at the peak of Lao Than at an altitude of 2,860 meters above sea level. The expected time for athletes from the starting point to the finish line is from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm on the same day. After 12:00 pm, if the athletes have not reached the finish line or along the route ensuring health, the organizers request them to descend the mountain to ensure the safety conditions for the athletes.
At the conclusion of the event on the same day, the Organizing Committee will award 4 sets of prizes, including:
– Female individuals from outside the district aged 16-40: 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 01 third prize, 03 encouragement prizes. Male individuals from outside the district aged 16-40: 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 01 third prize, 03 encouragement prizes.
– Female individuals from outside the district aged 41 and above: 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 01 third prize, 03 encouragement prizes. Male individuals from outside the district aged 41 and above: 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 01 third prize, 03 encouragement prizes.
– Female individuals from within the district: 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 01 third prize, 03 encouragement prizes. Male individuals from within the district: 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 01 third prize, 03 encouragement prizes.

Lao Than Peak – the Roof of Y Ty
To continue creating an enticing playground for the upcoming mountain climbing season, the Organizing Committee has decided to extend the registration deadline until August 23, 2023. Registration details include: Full name, date of birth, gender, health status, contact phone number and email, address or working unit of the athlete, group registration is encouraged.
