Though simple in appearance, banh quai vac is a culinary gem beloved by the locals of Binh Thuan for its bold flavors. You'll find street vendors selling this delicacy along the Doi Duong Beach or indulge in it at the food stalls in Phan Thiet Market.
Hotpot Tha
For many travelers visiting Mui Ne, Hotpot Tha is a favorite and distinctive dish. Hotpot Tha is typically made with various types of fish, with the most delicious being catfish or snakehead fish, but the ultimate delicacy is the catfish (a specialty of the Phan Thiet coastal region, Binh Thuan province).
It's a dish through which you can explore and savor the profound and meaningful flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, based on the five elements of ancient Buddhist philosophy: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.

Banh canh Binh Thuan
Banh canh is a simple and familiar dish to people nationwide. You can use bread to dip in banh canh broth, there are many types like banh canh with fish cake, steamed fish cake banh canh. Especially in Phan Thiet, this dish is slightly sweet, which you may not be used to, but give it a try! Apart from banh canh, you can also enjoy bread dipped in meatball sauce, which is fantastic.
Cốm hộc Binh Thuan
This is a very distinctive delicacy of the Phan Thiet region. Cốm hộc – also known as milk com – is mainly made from fragrant sticky rice that is roasted and popped, mixed with palm sugar, pineapple, and ginger. Similar to many other types of com, cốm hộc is made from glutinous rice. After being roasted, the rice expands into blossoms called popping grains. According to experienced com makers, phùng glutinous rice and scented glutinous rice are the two most delicious and fragrant types.
Cốm hộc can be preserved for 1-3 months. When consumed, use a knife to cut the com into 4 or 6 pieces, and it still tastes as delicious and fragrant as when freshly made.
Binh Thuan Dragon Fruit
The climate of Binh Thuan is quite harsh, with dryness throughout the year and exposure to the Southwest monsoon winds followed by the Northeast monsoon winds blowing in from the sea. Surely, there is no other locality with such a climate, yet it has contributed to the uniqueness of the “wild” plant species.

A steaming hot bowl of Duck Quang noodles, fragrant with the balanced richness of duck meat, the spiciness of chili, the crunchiness of peanuts, rice crackers, and the aroma of accompanying herbs, will satisfy your taste buds.
Phan Thiet sizzling pancakes
Phan Thiet sizzling pancakes stand out from those elsewhere as they are filled with fresh seafood such as shrimp, squid, fat, pork belly... readily available from the coastal region. You can enjoy this dish at any restaurant along the streets: Tuyen Quang, Binh Hung, Phan Thiet.
Pork offal vermicelli cakes
Although this dish consists only of: pork offal, vermicelli cakes, thin rice paper, assorted raw vegetables, and dipping sauce, it's hard to find a place that can match its flavor.
The vermicelli cakes here are quite separate, small strands, smooth and chewy at first glance resembling noodles more. The pork offal plate must include: heart, liver, kidney, tripe, and certainly cannot be without pork belly.
The dipping sauce for the cake is made from blended tamarind juice, garlic, finely ground chili, sugar, and a bit of salt, creating a sweet, sour, and fragrant flavor.
Squid sausage Ca Ty
Squid, the most delicious specialty in Binh Thuan. Every tourist, both domestic and foreign, cannot miss this special dish when they come here. The squid must be freshly caught from the sea, with white, fragrant, and elastic flesh. Through the skillful processing of experienced chefs at the Ca Ty restaurant - hotel, it has been turned into a very delicious sausage.
Enjoying squid sausage, you will feel the sunshine, the wind, and the saltiness of the Binh Thuan sea. Squid is caught from far offshore, along with ingredients from the sea, after being meticulously processed by the chef's hands, it has become a typical dish of the coastal region, a pure Vietnamese dish. This dish is served with shrimp crackers dipped in chili sauce.
