Part 1: Blocking Ads in Apps on Android Phones
Method 1: Using Adblock Plus (ABP)
The initial method to block all ads in apps on Android phones is to utilize an app, an ad-blocking tool. The ad-blocking tool mentioned in this article is called Adblock Plus (ABP).
Important Note: This method applies to both rooted and non-rooted Android devices.
Furthermore, we will need to perform an additional step called sideload because Google has blocked ad blockers from the Play Store.
Follow the steps below to install and use ABP to block ads on Android apps:
Step 1: Open the Settings app =>Applications.
Download Adblock Plus to your device and install it from here.
Step 6: Open the folder containing the downloaded file and begin the installation process. If you open the APK file using a file manager, select Open App Manager => Install.
Step 7: On rooted Android devices:
After the installation is complete, proceed to open Adblock Plus and grant permissions.
Step 8: For non-rooted Android devices, you will need to manually configure the proxy settings.
Adblock Plus will commence blocking all advertisements on Android phone applications. You can also customize additional options such as ad filters, ... within the app settings section.
Method 2: Utilizing the hosts file
Another method to block ads on Android applications and games is by utilizing the 'hosts' file.
Important Note: This method applies only to rooted Android devices.
The 'hosts' file is a plain-text file on the operating system used to associate server names with IP addresses. Whenever you access a website through a server name, the operating system searches for the 'hosts' file to find the corresponding IP address.
Follow the steps below to configure the 'hosts' file:
Step 1: Open any web browser on your computer and visit MVPS (or pgl.yoyo.org or hostfile.mine.nu). A window containing a plain-text document will appear on the screen. Save this page as a hosts file by pressing Ctrl + S.

Step 2: Next, use a USB cable to connect your Android phone to the computer, then copy the hosts file to the device. Remember to take note of the pathway.
Step 3: On your Android phone, open the file manager, copy the hosts file to the /etc or /system/etc directory.
A notification requesting Super User file manager access will appear on the screen. Press Allow to grant permission.
Step 4: Proceed to rename the original hosts file (if any) with the file extension .txt or .bak. Then paste the saved hosts file here.
Finally, restart your Android phone. From now on, you can comfortably browse the web and play games without advertisements.
Part 2: Blocking ads in applications on iPhone
Method 1: Using Built-in Ad Blocker VPN
Some VPN apps for iPhone come with an additional feature to block ads on third-party applications. Among these apps, Luna VPN stands out.

Note: VPN apps require a Wi-Fi connection to function properly.
On the app window, tap the Power button icon, and a notification will appear asking if you want to add a VPN configuration. Tap Allow and enter the passcode (if any).

Method 2: Using Ad Blocker for iPhone
iOS also offers ad blocker apps on the App Store, among which Weblock supports blocking all ads on third-party apps.
To download Weblock to your device and install it, click here.
After installation, open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to copy the configuration link.
Next, open the Settings app =>Wifi and tap the i icon next to the name of the Wifi network you are connected to.
In the Wifi settings window, scroll down to find and change the Configure Proxy setting to Automatic, and paste the link into the URL box, then tap Save.
Open the Weblock app and activate the available ad filters to finish.
