Guide to Blocking Ads on Facebook
For Mozilla Firefox:
Step 1: Open the Firefox browser
Step 2: Select Tools
Step 3: Choose Add-ons or use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+A.
Step 4: Type the keyword: Adblock Plus into the search tool and then press Enter
Step 5: Click on the Settings button on the right side of the screen and proceed to restart the browser.
After the restart, whenever there is an ad, simply hover over it and select Block to avoid being bothered by advertising messages anymore.
For Google Chrome:
Step 1: Download two applications to your computer, AdSweep.user.js and Flashblock.user.js
Step 2: Navigate to the installation folder of Google Chrome (By default, it is on drive C:)
(For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
For Windows 7: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default )
Step 3: Create a subfolder named User Scripts within Default
Step 4: Copy the 2 downloaded files into this User Scripts folder.
Step 5: On the Desktop, right-click on the Google Chrome icon.
Step 6: Select the Shortcut tab. Enter the additional text: --enable-user-scripts.
Step 7: Click on Apply and then OK.
Now you have successfully blocked ads and spam on your browser. As a result, you won't be bothered by annoying advertisements on your Facebook profile anymore.
