The two models come with 03 paint versions, each creating 03 distinct personalities including Triple Black, Rallye White Blue Red, and Black Gold “40 Years GS”.
Overall, the new R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure maintain their imposing, powerful, and distinctive GS style that has been beloved since the predecessor version. The difference lies in the innovation of new paint colors, bringing out the personality and allure unique to the latest edition. The Triple Black style enhances the strength and masculinity with a combination of predominant black, complemented by Blackstorm metallic and Anodized Gray. Notably, the black-coated drive unit is surrounded by a matte gray mainframe, black rear frame, and black A-plated handlebars. Additionally, the front headlight plastic, luggage rack, front suspension system, and brake clamp all feature predominantly black colors.
The unique “Bumblebee” style of the “40 Years GS” commemorative edition combines black and gold reminiscent of the legendary R 100 GS model, while also welcoming the tag line','#','SpiritOfGS','The Essence of GS: Where GS history is born.#SpiritOfGSThe Heart of GS: where GS history is born. Featuring bold yellow “40 years of GS” decals and logos on a striking black body, combined with black and gold Option 719 seat and HP/Shadow engine covers commemorating 40 years, this bike stands out as unique and distinctive among all current BMW Motorrad models. Blackstorm metallic color with yellow accents draws inspiration from the 40-year history of BMW GS. Rallye windscreen and Rallye seat in black and gold create a distinctive style for the bike.
The lighting system now boasts a fresh identity with LED headlights paired with Daytime Riding Light featuring X-shaped lights and Cruising Light with 2 front turn signals always lit, creating a new GS recognition. The rear turn signals have been upgraded to illuminate alongside the brake light, or flash continuously during regular and emergency braking. Inside the headlight cluster, the Adaptive Cornering Light technology adds a modern touch. Welcome mode upon startup, Goodbye mode upon shutdown, already present in the new GS models, create a user-friendly feel, especially with the addition of the Follow Me Home mode to assist riders in navigating dark spaces.
The new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure inherit the power of the Boxer engine with new Shiftcam technology from the predecessor version. With a displacement of 1,254 cc, the 2-cylinder in-line engine meets EURO 5 standards, delivering 136 horsepower at 7,750 rpm and generating a maximum torque of 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm. From the range of 2000 - 8250 RPM, the pulling force exceeds 110Nm, and from 3500 – 7750 rpm, the most commonly used range, the pulling force remains over 120 rpm, ensuring power for acceleration in all conditions. Thanks to the new Shiftcam technology with variable valve timing and different valve lift, the engine gains additional power across the entire range, providing smoothness and perfect optimization of fuel consumption, thereby optimizing the bike's performance.
The new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure are equipped with a host of new technological features. Among them, the Pro Riding Mode now adds an 'Eco' mode, offering up to 7 riding modes to meet various road conditions. The new riding mode helps increase fuel efficiency with a 'butterfly' throttle map and torque limitation. In addition, both 'Dynamic Pro' and 'Enduro Pro' riding modes have personalized options to adjust the bike to the owner's requirements, thereby increasing excitement when riding. Furthermore, the support of the new generation Dynamic ESA (Dynamic ESA “Next Generation”) electronic suspension system with load adjustment capabilities according to driving conditions and even in corners, automatically adjusting shock absorbers according to driving conditions and steering operations, providing high levels of safety, performance, and comfort when riding.
Modern technologies come as standard such as Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Dynamic Engine Brake Control (MSR), upgraded Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) emergency brake assist, Hill Start Control Pro (HSC Pro) for starting on inclines, and the new BMW Integral ABS Pro technology for safer corner braking, where squeezing the front brake automatically applies the rear brake with electronically controlled force distribution based on the bike's lean angle, road surface, and riding mode.
Modern conveniences include Heated Grips, two power sockets including a 12-volt socket installed on the side of the seat and a USB-A socket with 5-volt power near the screen for charging phones and other compatible devices. Both models are equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT color screen controlled by the Multi Controller software Connectivity, allowing riders quick access, connection, and use of functions such as phone, calling, music playback, and navigation directly on the screen.
