(Motherland) - Coaches from T1 and Gen.G agree that the draw will have a significant impact on the upcoming Finals.
The LCK Summer 2022 Finals, the most anticipated match in the global League of Legends (LoL) community, will take place on August 28th (Vietnam time). This match not only signifies the end of an exhilarating Summer season in the LCK region but also determines the team that will reign over the LCK until Spring 2023. Additionally, it serves as a clash between the two current powerhouses of the LCK: T1 and Gen.G Esports (Gen.G).

Prior to the Finals, both teams had the chance to sit down and share their thoughts, assessments, and objectives for the upcoming pivotal match of the Summer with the audience. Of particular note was the discussion regarding the draw, with both coaches deliberating on the choice between Blue or Red side.
In this regard, both HLV Polt (of T1) and HLV Score (of Gen.G) acknowledge the crucial importance of choosing between Blue and Red side. HLV Polt stated: 'Both Blue and Red sides have their own pros and cons. However, upon considering everything, I believe that the Blue side will fare better.'

Meanwhile, HLV Score expressed: 'For us, it's not excessively significant. However, since we've played numerous matches on the Red side, I believe that if we were on the Blue side, we could come up with more new strategies. Therefore, I think the Blue side is preferable.'

The debate over whether Blue or Red side provides more advantages for teams has been ongoing since MSI 2022, when T1's coach Polt stated that having to choose the Red side was one of the reasons for T1's defeat in the finals of that tournament. Since then, side selection has become a contentious issue in the global LoL community.
However, many teams have achieved numerous victories despite playing the majority of their matches on the Red side. Therefore, while side selection may be important, it is ultimately the performance of the players that truly determines whether they have the ability and qualifications to elevate their titles.
