Buu Long Pagoda – A mesmerizing temple in Saigon ranking among the world's most beautiful
Standing out among Saigon's temples with its distinctive architecture, Buu Long Pagoda is situated on Nguyen Xien Street, District 9, built in 1942. The temple is nestled on an 11-hectare hill on the west bank of the Dong Nai River, approximately 25km from the city center.

Following the ancient Southern Buddhist tradition, the temple only houses the statue of Buddha Shakyamuni and never lights incense like other sects. This is the uniqueness and special feature of the pagoda.

This place evokes a sense of tranquility and serenity, with its architecture always captivating onlookers. The highlight of the pagoda is the Gotama Cetiya stupa, built in 2007 and completed after 6 years. The stupa, covering an area of over 2,000 square meters and standing at a height of 70 meters, is constructed in the style of the Funan culture. The surrounding smaller stupas are made of bronze, shimmering in golden hues.

At the pinnacle of the pagoda, a place of reverence for the benevolent Buddha and the venerable Arahat Saints. Just below the pagoda's base lies a crescent-shaped lake spanning 280 square meters, adorned with a majestic dragon-shaped water fountain at its center.

The architecture of the temple embodies the distinctive characteristics of Theravada Buddhism in the Southeast Asian region. Intricate motifs of winding dragons form the vaulted roof, raised decorative patterns, bas-reliefs, and the Dharma wheel. With its golden spire and a structure reminiscent of certain temples in Thailand, the familiar moniker for Buu Long Pagoda is the Thai Temple. This place consistently attracts a large number of visitors seeking peace and tranquility.
