Can PS5 gamers play Baldur's Gate 3 with PC players?

Larian takes another leap forward after the successful launch of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5. Amidst new challenges and player demands, the burning question remains: does the game support cross-platform co-op between PS5 and PC?To address this, Larian's Publishing Director, Michael Douse, confirmed their intention to develop cross-platform play for Baldur’s Gate 3. However, there's much to do before implementation. It's certainly on their roadmap, aiming for a larger ecosystem as their ambition extends beyond PC and PS5, with an Xbox version slated for later this year.

In Baldur's Gate 3, players can co-op via split-screen (not available on Xbox Series S) and battle monsters together. Douse mentioned that cross-platform co-op is in development, with Larian planning a release timeline, but they're holding off on setting a date until they're sure.Speaking of the newly launched Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5, it has excellent support for online multiplayer and split-screen co-op. However, split-screen performance on PS5 isn't ideal, dropping to 30 FPS, significantly affecting gameplay compared to the smooth 60 FPS in single-player mode.In a pre-launch note for Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5, Larian acknowledged potential issues, especially in Arc 3 as players advance to Baldur’s Gate. They're working diligently to address these, not only on PS5 but also on PC, despite over a month passing since release.
