The iPhone is currently recognized by DxOmark as one of the world's best mobile devices for photography. The iPhone 12 series, featuring the ProRAW Camera, allows for high-quality image storage.

For photo editing enthusiasts, the RAW format is a well-known and highly useful tool. RAW photos, also known as raw images, capture all the unprocessed data directly from the camera, providing extensive details and high original image quality. While other manufacturers equipped their devices with RAW photo capabilities as early as 2016, it wasn't until 2020 that Apple officially introduced this feature to its latest iPhone 12 series. If you want to activate Apple's advanced ProRAW feature, follow these steps:
Step 1: On your phone's home screen, select the Settings option.

Step 2: After that, you proceed to locate the Camera tab in the settings app.

Step 3: In the Camera options, you proceed to select the format to enable ProRAW photo mode.

Step 4: To activate the Apple ProRAW feature, you just need to turn on the switch next to it.
Below, you will receive a notification that ProRAW photos will be stored in 12-bit (DNG format) with accompanying extended dynamic range information. ProRAW file sizes can be relatively large, reaching up to 25MB per image.

Step 5: Now, open the Camera app on your iPhone 12, and the RAW icon will appear.
If you don't want to capture RAW photos temporarily, you simply tap on them to turn it off and on again by tapping once more.
