During a meeting with consultants for the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2015, this idea was proposed by many consultants.
Consultants suggest that helicopter-launched fireworks have been successfully implemented in many countries worldwide. Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee, Huynh Duc Tho, has agreed to select PyroStar International (Australia) as the consulting firm for the helicopter-launched fireworks on the Dragon Bridge in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of National Day (2/9/1945 – 2/9/2015).
According to Mr. Tho, launching fireworks from helicopters requires thorough research and cost calculations for feasibility. The Da Nang People's Committee has assigned the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Military Command of Da Nang to collaborate with the consulting company, with a report due in October 2014.
In 2015, Da Nang will host the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC 2015). This annual competition has become a distinctive feature of Da Nang tourism. Following the 2013 performances, city leaders decided to organize it biennially to avoid monotony, providing ample preparation time and selecting participating teams.
