Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam approves Quang Ngai Province People's Committee to organize low-altitude fireworks, lasting no more than 15 minutes, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Ly Son Island.

The 30th-anniversary celebration of Ly Son Island will be held on the evening of December 29th at the central square. This is an opportunity to introduce and promote the potential, advantages, and image of Ly Son to friends both domestically and internationally.

During this event, the district will also organize the traditional boat racing festival featuring 8 boats representing the 'four mythical creatures': Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise, Phoenix, starting at 10:30 AM on December 30th. The traditional boat racing festival was first held here in 1826 and has been preserved and developed to this day.

In September 2020, the traditional boat racing festival featuring the 'four mythical creatures' in Ly Son Island district was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage.
