#CES21: Vuzix unveils the world's smallest microLED smart glasses

At CES 2021, the provider of wearable technology and augmented reality, Vuzix, introduced smart glasses integrated with the latest microLED technology from the company. This is the result of collaboration between Vuzix and China's Jade Bird Display company.

This new smart eyewear can operate in monochrome or full-color image mode at various pixel densities and resolutions.

Similar to the new microLED smart glasses, this eyewear also supports Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity, along with built-in speakers and noise-canceling microphones. Additionally, the gesture-based touch control panel supports both Android and iOS.

In recent years, microLED has been utilized as an alternative solution to OLED displays for product size optimization. Vuzix states that their glasses will have a compact design, allowing users to comfortably use them every day like regular sunglasses. The company declares it to be the 'smallest microLED display tool in the world when commercially available on the market.'

Currently, Vuzix's new smart glasses don't have an official name, and the price and release date have not been disclosed. According to TechCrunch reports, Vuzix plans to launch them in the summer of this year.
