Modifying icon images facilitates easier interaction with customized utilities. For example, when I create a Shutdown icon outside the Desktop, it only displays the Shortcut symbol, but changing the icon image makes it more visually appealing.
Alternatively, if there are numerous icons outside the Desktop, I reduce the size of the icons to have a more comprehensive view of the utilities. Thisarticle covers two main aspects of changing icon symbols: modifying icon images and adjusting icon sizes.
1. Changing Desktop Icon Images
When it comes to changing icon images in bulk, you'll need to utilize specialized software, and IconPackager is one of those options.
However, here I'll guide you on changing icons for the desktop.
Step 1:
On the desktop screen, choose any icon to change the icon. Here, I'll select Paint.
Step 2:
Right-click on the icon and choose Properties.
Step 3:
A window interface appears where you navigate to the Shortcut section and select Change icon.
Choose one of the available icons and then click OK to complete.
2. Changing Desktop Icon Sizes
Step 1:
Click on the empty space on your computer's desktop screen, then right-click and choose Personalize.
Step 2:
A window interface appears, select Windows Color.
At that point, the advanced settings window appears. Here, select the spacing option for icons under Item, there are quite a few options for you to choose from. I'll choose Icon Spacing.
Step 3:
Select the icon size under the size section.
Click OK to return to the original screen.
Finally, you can see the changes in the icons.
And it's done. Besides changing the icon on the screen, you can also organize desktop icons with Nimi Places to neatly arrange your software icons and data files.
