Step 1: Changing DNS to 1.1.1.1 on a Macbook has a slight variation. First, click on the network / WiFi icon, then choose Open Network Preferences.

Step 3: Here, go to the DNS section, click on the + sign to switch to DNS 1.1.1.1 with IPv4 or IPv6, depending on your preference.
Step 4: For IPv4, enter the address 1.1.1.1 and below it, 1.0.0.1. For IPv6, input the address 2606:4700:4700:1111 and below it, 2606:4700:4700:1001.
