TP-Link's WiFi lineup is considered a leading Internet connectivity device today. However, Gpon routers are also quite popular in Vietnam. Changing the WiFi password for Gpon is easy and effective. Of course, the process differs from changing FPT WiFi passcodes, and changing TP-Link WiFi passwords due to the distinct configurations of each modem. For TP-Link devices like the RE205 WiFi extender, the password change approach differs from regular routers. So, if you're using this product, refer to the detailed instructions on changing RE205 WiFi passwords for implementation.
Procedure for Changing RE205 WiFi Password, Updating TP-Link RE205 WiFi Password
Step 1: When looking to change the RE205 WiFi password, access the configuration of this signal extender. Similar to modems and routers, users need to connect to WiFi and use any browser like Google Chrome or Firefox on a computer or phone. In the browser, enter the address: 192.168.1.1 in the URL bar.
Next, log in with the Username and Password to access the TP-Link RE205 WiFi.
By default, the username and password for TP-Link products are:
User: Admin
Password: Admin
Press Login to sign in and change the TP-Link RE205 WiFi password.
In the configuration interface of RE205 WiFi, select Settings, then click on Wireless. Next, choose Connect to Network.
Step 2: In the Connect to Host Network section, there are two parts for the Password of the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands.
Understanding these two WiFi frequency bands of RE205 is crucial.
Wireless 2.4GHz: Offers extended signal range but slower network speed.
Wireless 5GHz: Provides closer coverage with higher network speed.
You need to select appropriate Host 2.4GHz Security and Host 5GHz Security matching your router.
Then, set a password for these two frequency bands, choose the band by checking Connect, and press Save.
Step 3: After saving the new RE205 WiFi passwords, press the Reboot button. Then select Yes to proceed with an immediate reset of the RE205 modem.
Within a few minutes, the RE205 modem will undergo a restart.
Upon completion of the device reboot process, users can reconnect to WiFi by entering the new password on their laptops or smartphones.
For Viettel network users, besides Totolink and Gpon, TP-Link is also a supported modem. You can refer to the detailed guide on how to change Viettel WiFi passwords. Mytour's instructions cover changing WiFi passwords on TP-Link, Totolink, and Gpon. Note that this guide applies to the old TP-Link interface, so for newer models, this method may not be applicable.
