Users can change the TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi password through two methods: either by using a laptop following the steps below or changing the Wi-Fi password with a phone. In reality, the simplest approach is to use a laptop and follow the TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi password change steps below. However, if you only have a smartphone, changing the Wi-Fi password with a phone is also a reasonable option. In practice, whether accessed through a web browser on a laptop or smartphone, the interface for changing the TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi password remains consistent.
Steps to Change TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi Password:
Step 1: To change the Wi-Fi password, access the TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi configuration settings. Enter the address: 192.168.1.1 into the URL bar of any browser, such as Google Chrome or Firefox, on your computer or phone.
Log in with the Username and Password to access the TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi.
The default TP-Link username and password are:
User: admin
Password: admin
Press Login to log in and change the TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi password.
On the initial interface of the TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi router, choose Wireless.
Step 2: Then, click Wireless Security to access the section for changing the TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi password. Pay attention to the Wireless Password section containing the current password of the TL-MR6400 modem.
Erase the old password and enter the new password.
Scroll down the Wireless Security interface and press Save to save the password change.
Step 3: Return to the main interface of TL-MR6400 to reset the modem, ensuring the WiFi password is accepted.
Select System Tools >Reboot. Then press the Reboot button and wait for the TL-MR6400 modem to reset the network.
Wait a moment for TL-MR6400 to restart the connection.
After successfully rebooting the modem, you have changed the TL-MR6400 Wi-Fi password. Now, just reconnect to the Wi-Fi, enter the new password to access the Internet.
