All Facebook users can publicly share their gender online. If you've mistakenly chosen the wrong gender, you can easily modify it on Facebook using the instructions below.
1. Changing Gender on Facebook via Web Browser (Computer)
On the Facebook platform for computers, we can swiftly and effectively update any information.
Step 1: Firstly, go to your Facebook profile and select the About section.
Step 2: Next, scroll down to find the personal information section and choose Edit your contact and basic info.
Step 3: Then, scroll to the Personal Information section where you'll find Gender. Click on Edit to make changes.
Step 4: Here, feel free to change your gender and you can select Show on Timeline to post an update after making changes.
Step 5: Additionally, you can also change your preferred gender such as: male interested in female, male interested in male, or female interested in female, etc.
After completing the changes, press Save Changes to update your personal information.
2. Changing Gender on Facebook via Mobile
For the Facebook platform on mobile devices, you can still make similar changes, although the interface may look slightly different.
Step 1: To begin, select your Profile icon on Facebook and choose View your About section.
Step 2: Then, scroll down to find the Basic Info section and select Edit. Here, you can change your date of birth, gender, and preferred gender.
To save your personal changes, scroll down to the bottom and choose Save to complete.
