On June 23, the Straits Times published information about Chau Tinh Tri. According to the report, Chau Tinh Tri made an announcement via a video clip on his Instagram on his 61st birthday (June 22). He expressed readiness to return as a director, and the film in preparation is titled Shaolin Women’s Soccer.
Chau Tinh Tri announces completion of the screenplay and seeks female actors globally. 'All actors from everywhere are welcomed, the more the better,' says Chau Tinh Tri. He requires candidates to be beautiful, youthful, talented in acting, with perfect physique and good health.
Applicants must submit recent unedited headshots along with necessary information. Edited photos will result in immediate disqualification if found in email submissions.
Chau Tinh Tri utilizes the opening soundtrack of his film The Shaolin Soccer Team, directed 22 years ago, in the video clip for actor auditions. Shaolin Women’s Soccer is perceived as a female rendition of The Shaolin Soccer Team. The storyline will be unveiled upon the film's theatrical release.
