CrystalDiskMark is a free software that helps you check the read and write speed of HDD, USB, and other storage devices. CrystalDiskMark provides tools for speed testing through random and sequential read and write speeds of 4KB/512KB data blocks.
Simple interface, user-friendly software that doesn't consume much memory. Just select the drive (USB, other storage devices) to test, the number of tests to perform, and the disk size (USB, other storage devices), then press the corresponding button to start the test. The software quickly executes the criteria and provides the most accurate results, then displays the information on the main interface.

After downloading, install the software into your system. The software interface after installation:

Step 1: From the main interface, set some software requirements.
1. Select the number of test runs (Number of Test Runs).

2. Choose the test size (Test size).

3. Choose the drive, USB, or memory card to test (Test Drive).

Step 2: Select the All button to perform all tests or select the corresponding buttons (Seq, 512K, 4K, 4K QD32) to test each specific test regarding read/write speed.
- Seq (Sequential): Performs sequential read/write speed (Block Size = 1024KB).
- 512K (Random 512K): Performs random read/write speed (Block Size = 512KB).
- 4K (Random 4K, Queue Depth =1): Performs random read/write speed (Block Size= 4K).
- 4K QD32 (Random 4K, Queue Depth =32): Performs random read/write speed (Block Size= 4K, Queue Depth = 32).

Note for the most accurate testing, it is best to close all open applications on your computer beforehand. This way, you can test the read and write speed of your hard drive and USB using CrystalDiskMark.
