According to Google, the Internet speed check feature takes approximately 30 seconds to complete. This tool is the result of a collaboration between Google and M-Lab.
The displayed metrics include download speed, upload speed, and latency. The latency speed, understood as the speed at which information can be transmitted to your computer, also affects how long it takes to download large files or access webpages with numerous images.
The introduction of this tool is expected to pose a significant challenge to many similar services and tools such as Speedtest.net and Testmy.net.
