A uniformly golden, fragrant, juicy piece of chicken enveloped by a layer of crispy, golden-brown fried sticky rice, irresistibly aromatic, chewy, and delicious!
Snow-Covered Sticky Rice Chicken - An Irresistible Delight
I visited Delicious Eats Bao Lam after being captivated by the picturesque scenery of the restaurant. The lush green trees, the pathway made of square stone slabs forming a small, floating bridge over the serene artificial lake surrounded by vibrant green lotus leaves and shades of pink and purple lotus flowers, mingled with water lilies, were truly enchanting.

The serene scenery here is as beautiful as a painting at Quán Ngon Bảo Lâm.
Yet, upon arrival, the dishes at the restaurant disappoint—from simple dishes like grilled river prawns to more elaborate ones like cheese-wrapped beef rolls, from dishes imbued with ethnic flavors like braised snakehead fish to foreign dishes like Thai shrimp vermicelli salad,... Quán Ngon Bảo Lâm consistently delivers well-rounded and impressive flavors.
Quán Ngon Bảo Lâm lives up to its name as a delicious restaurant, offering a wide variety of both familiar and exotic dishes. However, my favorite has to be the Snow-covered Chicken Sticky Rice. Despite its intricate preparation, tasting it reveals that every meticulous detail is truly worthwhile!

The dishes at Quán Ngon Bảo Lâm never fail to impress with their well-rounded and impressive flavors.
The chicken and sticky rice are enveloped in a thick layer of 'snow' on the outside, retaining high heat for hours. This dish is always piping hot and delicious, with juicy chicken, naturally sweet, sticky rice that's chewy and fragrant, infused with the savory essence of the chicken broth, each grain plump and aromatic, offering a blend of sweet rice milk aroma and rich chicken fat flavor, every bite a delightful experience!
Although I adore Quán Ngon Bảo Lâm's Snow-covered Chicken Sticky Rice, I can't replicate it at home because it's very intricate and requires skilled hands and meticulous attention from the chef. However, there's another delicious dish made from chicken and sticky rice, called chicken wrapped in sticky rice, which is equally fascinating to eat. This Tet holiday, if you have leftover chicken and sticky rice, just follow this recipe, and in about 20 minutes, you'll have a brand-new, mouthwatering dish that's sure to sell out!

Fried chicken wrapped in sticky rice can be creatively shaped and filled with various ingredients.
Ingredients Needed
+ Chicken (it's better to remove the bones to avoid choking when eating with sticky rice, but if you use chicken thighs, leaving the bones to wrap the sticky rice is also fine), sticky rice
+ Salt, sugar, chicken stock powder, honey, cooking oil, garlic, served with: lettuce, cucumber, and coriander, ... as you like
If the chicken is not yet cooked, marinate it with sugar, salt, chicken stock powder, honey, finely chopped garlic (1 tablespoon each), add half a tablespoon of chicken stock powder, mix well, and let it marinate for about half an hour.
Quickly stir-fry the chicken until it's almost dry, then add a little (about 1/3 cup) filtered water, simmer until the water evaporates, giving the chicken a beautiful golden brown color.
Once the chicken cools, pat it dry, then spread the sticky rice thinly (by placing warm sticky rice on a layer of clean food wrap, using a rolling pin or empty bottle to flatten it), place the chicken on top, roll it up tightly, squeeze firmly to compress the rice, completely encasing the chicken.

Simple steps to achieve hot, fragrant, crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside chicken wrapped in sticky rice
Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the rice rolls in, fry over medium heat until evenly golden brown on all sides, then remove and drain excess oil. This dish is best enjoyed hot, accompanied by chili sauce or freshly made chicken broth, incredibly delicious and nutritious, guaranteed to vanish from the table within minutes, even from the pickiest eaters!
If you want to indulge in more exquisite delicacies of Vietnamese cuisine, don't forget to visit Quán Ngon Bảo Lâm at least once. The romantic ambiance, the enticing and seductive delicious dishes will surely leave you in awe, longing for a return visit!
