The most notable feature in this release is the ability for developers to have more control over PWAs on desktop. This is achieved by allowing client applications to expand and control the entire screen except for window controls (basically the close, maximize, and minimize buttons on the title bar), making PWAs more akin to native apps.
Google Chrome 103 has been released, improving webpage loading speed compared to Chrome 102. You can find more information here.

Similarly, web applications may function as file handlers with certain MIME types and specific extensions. Developers modifying PWA manifests to trigger this behavior will find their web apps listed in the 'Open with ...' context menu.

In addition, there's a new navigation API added to meet the needs of Single Page Applications (SPAs) as the window.navigation API is currently somewhat complex. The capture handling mechanism is also available now, allowing web apps to opt-in to display controls and app information while recording video.
Accompanied by this is a new attribute providing estimates of audio latency, which can be used to synchronize audio and video streams. This attribute was originally implemented in the Firefox browser. Meanwhile, the Sanitizer API helps developers build applications without Cross-site scripting (XSS) more easily.
Chrome 102 version includes V3 of the Secure Payment Confirmation API, featuring 2 optional inputs and another necessary input. Web developers can leverage an option to pre-filter devices that do not provide a good user experience through the browser's selector.

The latest browser release also comes with a revamped interface for the Origin Private File System (OPFS). Web developers can also take advantage of enhancements for 2 attributes: inert and until-found.
Chrome 102 will officially launch by the end of today. If the latest browser version doesn't update automatically, you can access Help =>About Google Chrome to trigger the update when available. Alternatively, you can visit Mytour to download the latest Chrome 102.
In other news, Chrome 103 will be pushed to the Beta channel on May 26th and will land on the Stable channel on June 21st.
