Chrome will run more smoothly on laptops.
Back in December 2022, Google garnered attention by announcing that the PC version of the Chrome web browser would soon be enriched with two new enhancements beneficial for computer users, especially those with laptops.
At that time, Google only disclosed that these features would directly impact two main aspects affecting the Chrome user experience on laptops: multitasking capability and battery saving. After nearly 3 months, these features have finally been revealed with the names: Memory Saver and Energy Saver, as part of the stable release of Chrome 110.
Firstly, there's Memory Saver. As the name suggests, this will be a handy feature if you frequently have to open multiple tabs on your Chrome browser without wanting them to constantly reload. Typically, having a large number of open browser tabs at once can lead to RAM issues. However, when Memory Saver is activated, any unused tabs will be automatically removed from active memory by Chrome until you click back into one of those tabs. If desired, you can also manually configure Memory Saver to exempt certain websites from its impact.

As for the Energy Saver feature, when set as default, it will automatically activate when your laptop's battery drops below 20%. This feature will automatically limit any animations and videos on the web pages that Chrome currently has open.
In reality, several other web browsers in the market also boast similar features, such as Microsoft Edge with Sleeping Tabs and Efficiency Mode. However, it cannot be denied that Google's addition of Memory Saver and Energy Saver to Chrome will make such features gradually become the standard across all web browser platforms.
