1. Cross Diapers

Cross diapers are a traditional type of diaper that has been used for a long time. They have the advantage of being relatively inexpensive and easy to use. Additionally, cross diapers provide excellent ventilation for the baby's buttocks and genital area, preventing diaper rash. However, the drawback is that mothers need to wash them clean every time the baby urinates or defecates, which can be inconvenient. Suitable for newborns, they can be used until the baby is a few months old, possibly up to 6 months, depending on the mothers.
2. Newborn Pads

Newborn pads (Newborn 1 and 2) have a long rectangular design with a long strip of adhesive tape on the back for mothers to stick onto diaper pants. They are often used for newborns from birth in the hospital until the baby is around 3 – 6 months old, depending on the baby's weight. These pads are quite convenient for mothers as they eliminate the need for washing.
3. Snap-on Pants or Fabric Diapers

Snap-on pants or fabric diapers have a triangular design, made of breathable fabric, available in plain colors or patterns. Fabric diapers have adhesive tabs on both sides, making them easy to put on. With this type of diaper, mothers use newborn pads attached and then put them on the baby. Suitable for newborns, can be used until the baby is 3 months old or up to 6 months, depending on the baby's weight if the baby still fits the fabric diaper.
4. Adhesive Diapers

Adhesive diapers are a type of diaper that integrates fabric diapers and newborn pads. Adhesive diapers have a triangular shape like snap-on pants but are made of absorbent cotton. Putting on adhesive diapers is as simple as fabric diapers, mothers just need to align the front and back of the diaper and then fasten the 2 adhesive tabs on the sides tightly. After using this type of diaper for the baby, mothers can throw it away without needing to wash it. Adhesive diapers are usually used at night for newborns because they are more spacious and breathable than pant diapers. Mothers can use adhesive diapers at night for babies until they are 1 year old as usual.
5. Pant Diapers or Diaper Pants

Diaper pants have a design similar to underwear, with an elastic waistband and leg cuffs, making it easy to put on. Even when the child is a few years old, diaper pants can still be used. Diaper pants are usually used for babies at night when they urinate a lot or when taking them out, they are convenient and clean. Because diaper pants are tighter than other types of diapers, mothers should buy a size that fits the baby's weight or a larger size for the baby's comfort.
Important Points to Note When Using Diapers for Babies:
- Wear diapers correctly
- Choose the appropriate size
- Change diapers on time
- Keep the baby's skin clean before changing diapers
- Allow the baby's skin to breathe for about 3 – 5 minutes before putting on a new diaper
- For fabric diapers, mothers should wash them thoroughly after use
- Avoid excessive use of disposable diapers
- Choose high-quality diaper brands to ensure safety for the baby
