Coach kkOma has been informed that he will continue to lead the South Korean team at the upcoming Asiad 2022, facing heavy backlash from the community
In recent days, one of the most discussed factors in the global LoL community, especially in the LCK region, is the selection of the South Korean LoL team for the upcoming Asiad 2022. Despite Head Coach kkOma being designated, the uncertainty surrounding the six players leaves the community on edge.

However, KeSPA (Korea e-Sports Association) has taken cumbersome steps. The organization's unclear scheduling for players prompted Faker to speak out, stating he and his teammates felt overwhelmed. Subsequently, Coach kkOma also called for a press conference. He admitted to having almost no authority and unilaterally resigned after this press conference. As for KeSPA, they continue to postpone team selection until after MSI 2022, leaving the community frustrated and exhausted.

But recently, KeSPA officially announced on their personal Twitter page that Coach kkOma will continue his role with the South Korean LoL team. Additionally, KeSPA stated in the announcement that the team selection will be determined by the Head Coach and selection committee in early May. Players will be evaluated based on domestic and international performance over the past four years, 2022 performance, and performance during training camps. KeSPA will also simultaneously announce the composition of the selection committee to the public.

Coach kkOma's decision to 'switch sides,' committing to KeSPA, has truly left many LCK fans disappointed. Many are not hesitant to criticize the most accomplished coach in the LoL scene in general and LCK, calling him KeSPA's 'scapegoat.'

In reality, it's entirely understandable Coach kkOma's decision. In the current LCK landscape, hardly any coach possesses the blend of credibility and talent like Coach kkOma does. Furthermore, if KeSPA fulfills its commitments, Coach kkOma will have full autonomy. In that scenario, he could assemble a lineup to his liking, capable of contending for medals at the upcoming Asiad 2022.
