Comparing HD and Full HD Resolutions
What is Resolution?
Understanding simply, resolution is the number of pixels displayed on the TV screen, commonly referred to as pixels. For a TV, the more pixels, the more detailed the display. However, resolution is just one of the factors for evaluation, it also has many other components to determine, such as content source, image technology, pixel density, ...

Screen Resolution
High Definition Resolution
HD resolution, short for High Definition, implies high clarity. It refers to an HD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, approximately one million pixels. For HD TVs, their maximum display capability is limited to HD resolution. Contents with Full HD or 4K quality will automatically be downscaled to HD quality to match the TV's capabilities.

High Definition Resolution
At this resolution, screens with smaller sizes, around 35 inches or less, are most optimal. For larger screen sizes, the pixel count may not be sufficient, leading to uneven distribution and resulting in visual artifacts such as jagged edges, causing eye strain and discomfort for users. The price of these TVs is currently under 3 million dong, a truly attractive price point.
High Definition Resolution
Full HD - Full High Definition with optimal resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, totaling around 2 million pixels, twice the quality of HD. Therefore, the display will be more beautiful, sharper, and twice as detailed compared to HD. Similarly to HD resolution, higher quality content will also be downscaled to Full HD to ensure optimal performance. However, content with HD quality will still be displayed at HD resolution without any enhancement.

Full HD Resolution
TVs with approximately 2 million pixels, such as Full HD models, come in various sizes, typically larger. Sizes around 60 inches and below can fully display Full HD resolution without blur or loss of detail. Smaller screen sizes produce sharper and more detailed images. Despite having double the resolution of Full HD, their prices only slightly differ, around 4 million dong for a 32-inch Full HD product.

Optimal Display at Screen Sizes 60 Inches and Below
Display Capability
In reality, screen resolution is just one of the determining factors for a TV's sharpness, not the sole determinant. Even a model with HD resolution but supported by advanced image technologies can offer quality close to that of a Full HD TV with only 1-2 image technologies.

Screen resolution alone doesn't determine the sharpness of a TV
When investing, almost everyone desires a TV with the highest possible resolution, providing smooth, detailed images. However, the true difference between these two TV types is only noticeable on screens around 32 inches and above. Below this size, the sharpness of both products can be considered equal.

The difference becomes apparent with screen sizes of 32 inches and above.
Above are the most general evaluations and comparisons of the two common resolutions used in today's budget TVs, a segment that many customers are interested in and choose.
