5 Key Differences between League of Legends: Speed Warfare and Mobile Legends
1. Roles
- League of Legends: Speed Warfare: In LS: SW, we find 5 roles established by Riot Games since the beta version. You can see stats or signs of Solo and Duo on the lane when the match starts. It demonstrates Riot Games guiding mobile gamers about the role system derived from the PC version of LOL.
- Mobile Legends: For roles in Mobile Legends, they seem more flexible and depend on the meta. This version has 2 role formats including:
+ 1-2-2 (1 top laner; 2 mid laners, Carry and Tank; 2 bot laners, Marksman and Support)
+ 1-3-1 (1 top laner; 3 mid laners, Carry, Tank, and Support; 1 bot laner)
Currently, in matches, we often see the 1-3-1 meta chosen more frequently by teams. It's much more effective relying on a single Carry, but still requires two sturdy offlaners to hold the lanes.
2. Rune Boards
- League of Legends: Speed Warfare: Regarding battle preparation, the game features a function called Runes. With these runes, you can add or enhance the abilities and stats of your champion before heading onto the battlefield. For example, by selecting the Conqueror rune, your champion will deal additional damage to enemy champions (thus, perfect for melee champions). Runes in Speed Warfare are preset as soon as you start playing the game. You just need to reach level 10 to unlock all of them and customize as desired.
- Mobile Legends: Also called Runes, but in the game, they come in more varieties. Upon receiving them, they are only at level one with minimal stat boosts, requiring players to spend more time grinding to reach the maximum level (level 60).
3. Buying Items
- League of Legends: Speed Warfare: You have to return to the base to purchase items. It's quite similar to the PC version of LOL, requiring players to return to the base, not allowing them the opportunity to push lanes and destroy turrets simultaneously.
- Mobile Legends: Unlike LS: SW, Mobile Legends shares some similarities with most mobile MOBA games, allowing you to purchase your items anytime. Some might find it peculiar, but it actually provides players with the opportunity for creative strategies or surprise combat engagements.
4. Vision System, Wards
- League of Legends: Speed Warfare: As a laner, you certainly don't want anyone disrupting your training process. However, opponents will try their best to bother you by setting up ambushes, also known as ganks. Now, in Wild Rift, you can mitigate these threats by using Wards that you have, storing a maximum of 2 items. There are two types of Wards including:
+ Yellow Ward provides vision
+ Red Ward reveals enemy Yellow Wards and exposes enemy champions using invisibility, stealth, or disguise skills.
- Mobile Legends: Unlike LS: SW, the game requires you to use Wards to provide vision on the map, mainly relying on tank and support champions. These roles are crucial for keeping the Carry safe. Besides, some specific champions have abilities similar to Wards such as Selena with Abyssal Trap (1), Popol Kupa with Popol's Surprise (3) ...
5. Gold Management
- League of Legends: Speed Warfare: You will become familiar with the 'last-hit' system similar to most PC MOBA games, where players need to land the final blow on minions to earn gold. Of course, if you're nearby but not the one landing the final blow, you still receive gold but very little, making players more cautious in the farming process.
- Mobile Legends: In contrast to LOL, in Mobile Legends Bang Bang, you only need to be near minions to earn gold from them. Therefore, players can focus on clearing waves without having to pay attention to gold management during the laning phase.
