1. Oppo F9 vs Huawei nova 3i - Affordable Mid-range Dual Camera Smartphones
Following the launch of Huawei nova 3i in Vietnam, Oppo introduced the F9. These two smartphones are currently competing head-to-head in the 7-8 million dong price bracket.

Huawei aims to become the second-largest smartphone brand in the Vietnamese market by 2020, hence the focus on releasing various products from budget to high-end. Meanwhile, Oppo is renowned for its selfie-centric devices. In the mid-range segment, Oppo F9 is considered a direct competitor to Huawei nova 3i.

The design language of nova 3i and F9 bears similarities with glass panels on both the front and back. However, the frame of nova 3i is made of metal whereas F9 opts for faux glass plastic. Consequently, nova 3i offers a more solid and sturdy grip compared to Oppo F9.

Both devices are equipped with dual 16 and 2 MP cameras. However, the dual camera setup on the nova 3i is positioned vertically whereas the F9's is horizontal. Huawei pays more attention as the camera trim blends seamlessly with the device, creating a synchronized and appealing look.

Both Oppo F9 and Huawei nova 3i boast gradient color variants following the trend. With a blend of green and black, it offers a visually striking appearance. The point of difference lies in Oppo F9, where tilting at different angles reveals beautiful diamond-cut patterns.

Both devices feature a 6.3-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Due to Oppo F9's smaller waterdrop notch, the display space occupies 84%, 1.8% larger than nova 3i's. Moreover, Oppo F9's front camera boasts a 25 MP resolution, while nova 3i features a dual 24 and 2 MP selfie camera setup.

Huawei nova 3i's display prowess slightly surpasses Oppo F9's, offering higher brightness and wider viewing angles. Additionally, nova 3i is equipped with 2.5D tempered glass for a more comfortable touch experience compared to Oppo F9.

Despite being new products, both devices are only equipped with the relatively outdated MicroUSB charging port instead of USB-C.

Oppo F9 excels in customizing navigation keys compared to Huawei nova 3i. Users can easily switch through swipe gestures akin to those on the iPhone X.

In addition to design, the configuration of the Huawei nova 3i and Oppo F9 does not differ much. Nova 3i features the Kirin 710 chip (scoring around 5,400 in GeekBench), while Oppo F9 uses the MediaTek Helio P60 chip (scoring around 5,600 in GeekBench). Both devices come with 4 GB of RAM; however, the nova 3i has a larger internal storage of 128 GB compared to 64 GB on the Oppo F9.
