Various suppliers are competing to win orders for OLED screens for the iPhone SE 4.According to Macrumors, Tianma is set to be a secondary supplier, as a larger manufacturer like BOE may secure the majority of orders. Apple staff responsible for purchasing display panels are reported to have visited several large OLED panel manufacturing plants in China in the first half of 2023.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the fourth-generation iPhone SE will feature a 6.1-inch OLED display with a similar design. This smartphone is also rumored to be equipped with a custom 5G modem from Apple. Previous reports suggest that Apple has been developing 5G modems since 2018 and acquired the majority of Intel's mobile modem business in 2019. However, the device is not expected to be released until 2025.
The current iPhone SE was released in March 2022 featuring a 4.7-inch LCD display, Touch ID, 5G, a 12-megapixel rear camera, and the A15 Bionic chip. With a starting price of $429 in the US, it stands as one of Apple's most affordable iPhone models at present.
