To educate a child, love and respect the teacher.'
Honoring the teaching profession and valuing our educators is a noble gesture of our people. Respected guests and all staff members
of the school!
Since 1982 and earlier, November 20th in Vietnam has been recognized as the International Day of Teachers. In 1957, the International Conference of Education Unions convened in Vác - sa - va, Poland, with 57 countries participating, including the Education Union of Vietnam. The conference decided to designate November 20th as the International Day of Teachers annually. Implementing this resolution, on November 20th, 1958, the International Day of Teachers was first celebrated in Vietnam. However, due to the nature and purpose of the International Day of Teachers, November 20th has undergone fundamental changes; following the wishes of teachers and the people, on September 28th, 1982, the Council of Ministers, now the Government, issued Decision No. 167/HĐBT, designating November 20th as Vietnamese Teachers' Day. Over the past 28 years, November 20th has become a beautiful tradition of our education sector and our people.
The government's decision carries special significance, reflecting the concern of our Party and State for the important role in educating the younger generation and teaching profession. At the same time, this decision has provided a basis for teachers and educational administrators to reflect on themselves and affirm their roles in the education profession.
In Vietnam, from ancient times to the present, the teaching profession has always been cherished by the people. The achievements we have today are thanks to generations of dedicated teachers who have instilled the noble qualities of Vietnamese educators. These include:
The noble tradition of Vietnamese educators is first and foremost their close connection with the people. Teachers are born from the people, living amidst their love and trust. In the past, teachers shared meals and hardships with the people. Today, teachers, especially those in rural areas, are truly local officials, friends of everyone, every household. Our people cherish and appreciate teachers.

Respected delegates, dear teachers, and beloved students!
Firstly, I extend my warmest greetings and best wishes for good health to all distinguished delegates and esteemed educators!
November returns with nationwide jubilation as we approach Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20th, a day when society reveres the noble contributions of educators. We all hold dear memories of our beloved teachers from our school days, reflecting on their profound impact with deep gratitude and boundless respect.
Vietnamese culture has long upheld the tradition of 'Respect the Teacher, Cherish the Moral Values', as teachers have played a vital role in shaping the Vietnamese soul throughout history, bridging the past with the present and future of the nation. In ancient society, the position of teachers was highly esteemed. During feudal times, within the hierarchical structure of 'King - Teacher - Father', educators were ranked below the king but above parents.
As the proverb goes, 'If you want to cross the bridge to success, love and respect your teacher for knowledge.' In the modern era, teachers are honored as 'engineers of the soul', with teaching being regarded as 'the noblest profession, as it nurtures creative individuals.' Today, countless educators nationwide, including outstanding teachers and millions of others, dedicate themselves to the noble cause of 'nurturing people'. These teachers are revered, and honoring them has become a natural ethos and sentiment for all of us.
Teachers are esteemed because they symbolize moral standards. They not only embody ethics but also have the noble mission of imparting these values to everyone, especially their students, helping them become knowledgeable, morally upright individuals with the ability to contribute to society and the nation. Hence, on September 28, 1982, the Cabinet issued Decision 167/QD-HDBT, designating November 20th annually as 'Vietnamese Teachers' Day'. This decision reflects the profound concern of the Party and the state for the educational cause, honoring the position and role of teachers in the construction and defense of the Vietnamese Fatherland. Therefore, every year, as this date approaches, schools nationwide echo with the rallying cry of 'Teach well, Learn well', celebrating 'Vietnamese Teachers' Day'.
Joining the jubilant atmosphere, the nationwide education sector commemorates the 30th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2016).
