The long summer vacation promises many exciting things. Dearest grandmother,
As the crisp autumn weather sets in, it reminds me that another school year is about to begin, marking another step towards growing up. Today, while sitting amidst my books and notebooks, memories of you flood my mind, reminiscing about the past summer spent with you in the countryside. Hence, I write this letter to recount my summer vacation this year and to inquire about your well-being. How are you doing, dear grandmother? Do your bones still ache whenever the weather turns cold? Is grandfather still keeping well? Our backyard must be overflowing with ripe melons by now, don't you think?
My parents and I are all in good health. We recently concluded an extended summer holiday with a trip to Ha Long Bay - one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It was truly delightful, grandmother. Preparing for the trip, I had to organize our food and clothing days in advance. Our journey commenced at 5 in the morning from Nam Dinh to Quang Ninh, and after a three-hour drive, I was greeted with a picturesque landscape of serene mountains and waters. I had the opportunity to explore caves by boat, marveling at the stalactites and stalagmites, each displaying a myriad of colors. I even went for a swim in the sea; the water here is as clear as an emerald, allowing me to see right through to the seabed. Afterwards, we visited the seafood market, a true haven for seafood enthusiasts like us. Despite the exhaustion from the three-day trip, everyone had smiles on their faces. I even managed to buy gifts for you and grandfather, as well as for Uncle Vinh's family.
As my letter has grown quite lengthy, I shall conclude here. In closing, I wish you both good health, long life, and endless happiness with your grandchildren. Grandma, I promise to visit you during the National Day holiday.

Grandma, how are you doing these days? I miss you and everyone so much. I still cherish the fairy tales you used to tell me... Are the folks back in the countryside doing well? Mom told me that Uncle Minh has been sick. Is he feeling better now, grandma?
Grandma, our family in Hanoi is doing fine. Dad often goes on business trips far away, but every time he goes, he calls us and brings back lots of gifts for my sister and me. This summer, Mom and Dad took us to visit Ba Na Hills in Da Nang. It's absolutely beautiful there, grandma. The flower gardens are stunning, with various flowers showcasing their colors and scents. The houses are built in a French style, giving off an ancient charm that attracts many tourists. We met lots of foreigners there, grandma - Koreans, Chinese, and even Americans. The food there is delicious too. I couldn't stop eating. We took many photos together, me, my sister, and Mom and Dad.
I had a great time this summer visiting new places, but I still miss last summer when we went kite flying in the countryside with my siblings and listened to your fairy tales every evening.
