Hello, Mrs. and classmates. My name is Hong Anh. Today, I will recount the most impactful fairy tale - the story of 'Coconut Skull.' I cordially invite you and everyone to listen.
Once upon a time, there lived a humble elderly couple who worked as hired hands for a wealthy man. Despite their age, well into their fifties, they had not been blessed with children. One day, while gathering firewood in the forest, the wife became incredibly thirsty. Luckily, she stumbled upon a coconut shell at the base of a tree and hastily drank from it. To her surprise, after that day, she discovered she was pregnant. Life's inevitable cycle took its toll, and the husband passed away. The widow gave birth to a unique child with a round, fluffy head, and no limbs. Despite contemplating discarding the infant, the child pleaded, 'Mother, I am human too. Please don't abandon me; I am pitiable.' Reluctantly, she decided to keep and nurture the child, naming it Coconut Skull.

As time passed, the mother grew increasingly distressed as Coconut Skull failed to achieve much. Feeling responsible, Coconut Skull suggested approaching the wealthy man for a job as a cattle herder. Remarkably skilled, he managed to feed all the animals in his care.
The wealthy man had three daughters. Every day, they took turns bringing meals to Coconut Skull. Then, one day, the youngest daughter heard a melodic and profound flute sound. She quickly hid behind a bush and witnessed a handsome young man. Sensing her presence, the young man reverted to his original form. From this day forth, she knew that Coconut Skull, being unconventional, had won her heart.
As the end of the season approached, Coconut Skull urged his mother to seek the wealthy man's consent for marriage. Although surprised, his mother, complying with her child's wish, gathered betel leaves and went to present the proposal. Upon hearing it, the wealthy man, amused, laid out the conditions for the ceremony: one hundred bags of golden rice, ten sheets of peach blossom silk, ten plump pigs, and ten jugs of rare wine.
Returning home, Coconut Skull's mother conveyed the conditions to him. She advised against the marriage plan, but he confidently asserted that he would prepare everything required. On the appointed day, his mother was astounded to find the house filled with ceremonial items and relatives bustling around. Seeing this, the wealthy man's eyes lit up, and he promptly summoned his three daughters to gauge their opinions. While the two elder sisters scoffed at Coconut Skull's appearance, the youngest was willing to marry him. True to his promise, the wealthy man gave his daughter in marriage.
On the wedding day, Coconut Skull shed his unattractive appearance and transformed into a handsome young man. Envious and resentful, the two elder sisters could not hide their jealousy.
The life of the happily married couple was filled with warmth and joy. Thanks to his diligence and perseverance, Coconut Skull excelled in his studies and passed the imperial exam. Before embarking on his official journey, he instructed his wife always to carry the items he had provided: a flaming stone, a sharp knife, and two eggs.
Witnessing their younger sister marry a talented husband, the two jealous elder sisters intentionally pushed her into the sea while rowing a boat. Following her husband's earlier instructions, when swallowed by a giant fish, she used a knife to kill it and escaped. Stranded on a deserted island, she created fire using a rock, cooked fish for survival, and hatched two eggs, raising the chicks as companions in the wilderness.
One day, spotting a boat passing by the island, the rooster crowed loudly three times, 'Cock-a-doodle-doo! A crucial boat to bring my wife home.' After days of separation, Coconut Skull and his wife joyfully reunited. Back home, Coconut Skull threw a celebration but kept his wife's face hidden. The two elder sisters, delighted at the prospect of becoming the wife of an important figure, pretended to cry, narrating a pitiful story about their younger sister. Coconut Skull remained silent. Towards the end, he called his wife forward, and the two elder sisters, ashamed, left the house and went into exile.
Through the tale of 'Coconut Skull,' we glimpse the ancient aspirations for a just life.
