Assignment: Write an argumentative essay analyzing and evaluating the theme and unique artistic features of a poem (be it lục bát, thất ngôn bát cú, or quatrain).
Reference Work: Analysis and evaluation of the theme and unique artistic elements in the poem 'Pác Bó Scenery.'
The poem portrays not only the hardships of life and work in Pác Bó but also evokes a love for nature and an optimistic spirit. This theme is immediately evident in the first line:
'Morning by the stream, evening in the cave'
This line opens up the scene of daily life in Pác Bó's cave. It's like a recurring cycle of 'morning out' - 'evening in.' And where the person enters and exits is indeed special. Not a palace or a grand mansion, but daily life amidst the mountains, with 'streams,' 'caves.' Despite the scarcity of living conditions, the abundance of difficulties, we can feel a disciplined lifestyle, a relaxed demeanor, and a love for nature.
The daily life of the person becomes even simpler with images of simplicity and the mundane:
'Porridge with watercress, bamboo shoots always ready'
Simple meals of 'porridge and watercress,' 'bamboo shoots' yet always embodying a 'ready' spirit. A proactive stance and optimism contrast the hardships of life.
The theme of the poem is further highlighted by descriptions of daily work:
'A wobbly stone table for Party history documents'
From the sculpted figure of 'swaying' sensation combined with the noun 'stone table' has depicted the temporary workplace of Uncle. However, no matter how many difficulties encountered, He still sits there and persists with the 'Party history' work - a work of great significance to the revolutionary cause of our nation.
And when facing difficulties, shortages in living and working conditions, He still shows his optimistic spirit:
'Revolutionary life is truly glorious'
Despite going through hardships and hardships, He always yearns and desires to bring happiness, warmth, and independence to the whole country. Therefore, for Him, being revolutionary makes life 'glorious' beyond measure. From 'glorious' as the hallmark of the poem, highlighting the theme of the poem and illuminating the elegant demeanor, optimistic spirit, and steadfastness of Him in the Vietnamese Revolution. Through that, we also feel the joy of carrying out the ideal work in Him.
