Answer:
Refer to the narrative below:
1. Lý Tự Trọng was born into a poor farmer's family in Hà Tĩnh. He had an early revolutionary enlightenment and was sent abroad for education. Intelligent and fluent in Chinese and English, he excelled in his studies.
2. In the fall of 1929, Lý Tự Trọng returned to Vietnam. Assigned with liaison duties, he handled the transfer of letters and documents to Party organizations in foreign countries through sea routes. To facilitate his work, he worked as a coal collector at the Saigon port.
3. On one occasion, he cleverly hid documents on his bicycle and, when stopped by a Western officer, managed to escape. Another time, he dove into the water to evade capture when transferring documents from a ship.
4. In early 1931, during a public rally, he shot and killed a French spy named Lơ-grăng to rescue his comrade, resulting in his own capture.
3. In prison, he endured brutal torture, facing death and resurrection, yet he revealed none of the revolutionary movement's secrets. Vietnamese inmates admired him as 'Mr. Small.'
The colonial French authorities brought Lý Tự Trọng to trial. Unafraid, he exposed the invasive nature of the French and turned the courtroom into a platform for revolutionary propaganda. His defense lawyer argued that due to his youth, his actions lacked consideration. Lý Tự Trọng asserted that all his actions were the result of careful thought: 'Although not yet of legal age, I am old enough to understand that Vietnamese youth have only one path—to revolution for the liberation of the nation from the oppression and slavery of colonialism and feudalism. There can be no other way.'
Despite public opposition and media criticism, the colonial French government executed Lý Tự Trọng on the last day of 1931. Before his death, the heroic young man, aged 17, continued to sing the International anthem, falling for his homeland and nation.
4. In the face of ruthless torture in prison, Lý Tự Trọng remained resolute, withholding all revolutionary secrets from his captors. The French colonial regime brought him to trial, where he fearlessly exposed their imperialistic nature, transforming the courtroom into a revolutionary platform. Despite public and media backlash, the colonial authorities proceeded to execute Lý Tự Trọng on the final day of 1931. Prior to his demise, the 17-year-old hero defiantly sang the International anthem, symbolizing his dedication to his homeland.
