There is the embankment resonating with the songs of young men and women on bright moonlit nights. But close and dear to me is still the path from home to school - the beautiful path throughout my school years.
Answer:
- Paragraph a using the direct opening technique.
Writing style: Immediately mention the object being described.
- Paragraph b employing the indirect opening technique.
Writing style: Engage in a different conversation to lead into the story or object being described.
Question 2 (page 84 of Vietnamese 5 textbook): Below are two ways to conclude an essay describing the familiar path from home to school. Please indicate the similarities and differences between the non-extended (a) and extended (b) concluding paragraphs.
a) The path from my home to school may not differ much from the streets in the city, but it is very familiar to me.
b) I love the path from home to school very much. Every morning on the way to school, I see a clean path. I know this is thanks to the continuous cleaning efforts of the janitors. My friends and I remind each other not to litter so that the path remains clean and beautiful.

a) Opening paragraph in direct style: Immediately narrate the described scene as the path from home to school: Nguyen Truong To Street.
b) Opening paragraph in indirect style: Mention the landscapes of the homeland to introduce the description of the path from home to school. It is the most intimate and beautiful path - a beautiful path throughout the school years.
2. Read both the non-extended (a) and extended (b) conclusions on page 84, Textbook, and identify the similarities and differences between the two conclusion styles.
+ Similarities: Express thoughts about the path. It is the intimate, beloved feeling towards the path.
+ Differences: The non-extended conclusion (a) only mentions thoughts about the path without additional comments. The extended conclusion (b), besides expressing affection for the path, also provides comments and observations about the path: The path is very clean, expressing gratitude to those who have made the path beautiful and showing awareness of preserving the path.
3. Write an indirectly opened paragraph and an extended concluding paragraph for an essay describing the natural scenery in your local area.
