Passport
Passport is an essential document for your international travel, allowing you to enter or exit Vietnam and other countries. To travel abroad, your passport must have a minimum validity of 6 months.
If you don't have a passport, you need to apply for one before your trip. The passport application process is quite simple. You need to prepare documents including: 2 recent 4x6 photos (taken within 3 months), household registration book, original ID card or citizen identity card, and passport application form. Bring the prepared documents to the immigration management office of the province or centrally-run city. If necessary, you can submit them to the Immigration Department.

Passport validity is 10 years. If your passport expires, you need to renew it at the immigration office. An important point is that the passport can replace some of your personal documents like ID card for administrative procedures.
