Con Dao is a district in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, a beautiful archipelago located off the coast of Southern Vietnam, about 97 nautical miles from Vung Tau city by sea. Currently, there are two transportation options available to reach this stunning island: by sea and by air.

Traveling to Con Dao by airplane
According to travel experience in Con Dao, besides sea ferries, you can opt to book a flight to Con Dao. This mode of transportation is favored by many passengers for its convenience and quick travel. Currently, only Vietnam Airlines operates 2 flight routes from Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho to Con Dao with flight durations ranging from 45 minutes to 1 hour and a frequency of 3 flights per day. This mode of transportation to Con Dao is relatively expensive, with costs ranging from 1 million to 2 million VND depending on ticket class and booking time. If you're departing from Hanoi, you'll need to travel to Tan Son Nhat Airport or Can Tho Airport and then fly directly to Co Ong Airport - Con Dao. However, in 2020, Bamboo Airways also plans to operate non-stop flights from Hanoi to Con Dao, so those of you in Hanoi won't have to worry about transit without reaching Con Dao.

After landing at Co Ong Airport, located 12km from Con Dao town, or finishing your ferry journey at Ben Dam Port, you'll have plenty of transportation choices in Con Dao such as bicycles, motorbikes, taxis, and electric vehicles.
Bicycles
This is a quite interesting means of transportation for those who enjoy cycling around Con Dao town on their own. However, the drawback of this mode of transportation is that it requires physical effort and you can't travel too far. You can rent bicycles quite cheaply, about 30,000 VND/day, at Con Dao resorts, hotels where you stay, or at Cafe Con Son (near Tau 914 Bridge).

Motorbikes
You can use this mode of transportation to explore around Con Dao without worrying about exerting too much effort. In Con Dao, residents are very traffic-conscious and the traffic density is low, so you'll feel quite safe when traveling. There are many reputable motorbike rental points in Con Dao:

Before renting a motorbike, remember to save the contact number of the rental owner, check all necessary documents, and especially the fuel level of the bike. Con Dao has only 1 gas station open from 6:00 AM - 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM - 8:00 PM on Nguyen Hue Street, so make sure to pay attention to the time to refuel.
