However, now this feature has been integrated into iOS 11 for all apps. When an app is designated as sensitive, it will not display notification content on the device's lock screen; instead, the app will only display 'notification' on the screen.
Hide preview of notifications from all apps
To hide the preview of notifications from apps on iPhone, follow these steps:
Access the Settings app, then select the Notifications feature as shown below:
Next, select the Show Preview option, where you can choose When Unlocked or Off to disable notifications on the device.
Hide preview of notifications from each app individually
Additionally, you can also customize hiding notification content for each individual app. For instance, you can choose to hide the preview of notifications from all apps, yet allow preview for specific apps.
Alternatively, you can opt to display previews for most apps and only hide sensitive ones like emails, messages, etc.
The method to hide notification previews for each app is as follows:
Step 1 : Access the Settings app and select Notifications as shown below:
Now, you'll choose an app from the list displayed below.

Step 2 : Now, to set up hiding notifications for this app, you search for and select the Show Preview option.
Similar to the method above, now we'll proceed to set the preview mode for this notification as When Unlocked or Off to disable notifications on the device.
Hide notifications on the lock screen
Although you've set to hide preview of notifications from apps on the lock screen, however, when someone is playing around with your phone, they can still view the notifications sent to your iPhone. If you don't want other users to see notification content, especially from sensitive apps, you can set to hide app notifications on the lock screen.
The method to hide notifications on the lock screen for each app is as follows:
Access Settings and select Notifications , then choose any app .

Follow the same steps for the apps you want to hide notification content on the iPhone lock screen. App notifications will still appear in the history and at the top of the screen when the phone is unlocked.

The feature to hide sensitive content on the iPhone lock screen also works well on the iPhone X; users simply need to look at the iPhone to unlock the device with Face ID and will see notification content from apps.
