The iPhone 14 Plus caters to users who love large-screen iPhones but don't want to spend extra for the Pro Max. However, this model seems to be underperforming, and Apple is reportedly 'seriously considering' the matter, needing a fresh approach for the iPhone 15 next year to properly differentiate between the Pro and regular iPhone.

Supply chain sources suggest that Apple is currently contemplating reducing the selling price of the iPhone Plus (whether referring to the iPhone 14 Plus or next year's 15 Plus) to $799 instead of the current $899. With a price reduction for the Plus series, it's highly likely that Apple will also reduce the price of the regular (6.1-inch) series.

In the past, Apple tended to favor larger iPhones in terms of camera features. For instance, the iPhone 6 Plus had slightly better camera enhancements compared to the iPhone 6. Similarly, the iPhone 12 Pro Max boasted a telephoto lens narrower than the iPhone 12 Pro, along with Max models featuring sensor-shift stabilization. However, with the iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max and now the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max, both models share identical camera features, lacking differentiation. With the iPhone 14 Plus, all features match those of the regular iPhone 14 except for the larger screen and longer battery life, perhaps these factors aren't compelling enough for users to invest extra in the Plus series.

It remains unclear what changes Apple will introduce for the iPhone 15 next year; it's still early days. However, it would be intriguing if the upcoming rumors about Apple reducing the price of the iPhone 14 Plus turn out to be true.
