As technology continues to advance, the use of projectors for teaching and displaying computer content on TVs has become prevalent. Therefore, knowing how to connect a laptop to a TV is essential to ensure a smooth viewing and teaching experience. Note: Before initiating the laptop-to-TV connection, make sure you have a laptop and a projector or TV equipped with HDMI, VGA ports. Along with power and display devices, an HDMI cable is crucial. HDMI cables are readily available at electronic component stores or technology centers.
Guide on Connecting a Laptop to a TV
Connect one end of the HDMI (VGA) cable to the HDMI port on your laptop. Next, connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your TV or projector. Pay attention to the distance between the laptop and the TV, depending on the length of the HDMI cable.
Step 2:
Use the remote to press the power button on the TV or projector. Then, select the HDMI command (at this point, this command will display an additional input command).
Step 3:
Wait for the TV or projector to connect to the laptop. If there is no signal detected after about 15 seconds, press the Windows-P key combination on the laptop, then select Duplicate to mirror the laptop to the TV.
When pressing the Windows + P key combination, there will be several display modes depending on the usage needs of each person:
PC Screen Only: Displays content only on the source screen.
Duplicate: Shows content on both screens with the same content.
Extend: This is the extended display mode. Unlike Duplicate mode, users can drag objects and windows from one screen to another, displaying multiple objects simultaneously.
Second Screen Only: Displays only on the second screen.
