Where is Tam Hai Island?
Embark on a journey from the heart of Danang City, traveling along National Highway 1A towards Nui Thanh District (Quang Nam) for approximately 100km until reaching milestone 1020. Then, turn towards the sea for 10km, crossing the Ky Ha estuary by ferry, where you will set foot in Tam Hai Island. This tranquil island commune is embraced on one side by the vast waves of the Truong Giang River and on three sides by the expansive ocean. Perhaps that's why this place is called Tam Hai. Separated from the mainland by only a stretch of the Truong Giang River, Tam Hai exudes a unique maritime flavor, attracting travelers seeking peaceful retreats.

Any traveler setting foot here will be amazed by this uncanny resemblance. This place boasts glittering black rock tables stretching over 1km, sculpted by the long-term erosion of wind and water. The skilled hands of Mother Nature have crafted peculiar and fascinating rock formations, each resembling an artistic sculpture placed amidst the vast ocean. From Ban Than cliff, one can see small islands with colorful coral reefs such as Mang Island, Dứa Island, and Đá Chìm Island in the distance.

When visiting Tam Hai Island, don't forget to visit Tam Hai market. There are plenty of fresh seafood options such as squid, fish, shrimp, crab, and snails caught and sold at affordable prices by the locals. Moreover, you'll also have the opportunity to taste delicious seaweed jelly, coconut water, or specialties like grilled mullet and grilled stingray, each carrying the unique flavors of this island region.
A day on Tam Hai Island offers a glimpse into a simple, peaceful, and slow-paced life that is hard to find in urban areas. Inspired by Tam Thanh Mural Village (Tam Ky City, Quang Nam), students from the University of Science and Technology - University of Danang have magically transformed the dull, moss-covered walls and fences of Tam Hai into vivid, colorful murals reminiscent of a fairy tale land. This sudden transformation has turned the area into a highly 'hot' tourist destination in Quang Nam.
