You'll need numerous 2' by 4' wooden pieces, at least 8 for each side of the pool, and additional ones for bracing, around 20 braces depending on the pool's height.
Procedures
Create supports for the pool's side by laying two wooden pieces along the pool's length on the ground. Determine the desired pool height and cut the wood accordingly, minus the width of the 2' by 4' pieces.
Secure the pieces to the wood, spacing screws at intervals of 1' to 2'.
Continue repeating steps 1 and 2 until you have a total of 4 braces.
Cut 4 pieces of plywood to match the height and length of the braces. Affix them to the front side of the bracing.
Next, construct side bracing to contain the water.
You can either devise your own bracing or utilize the following design: Build a box using 2' by 4' lumber, matching the pool's height, with an additional piece of 2' by 4' placed diagonally on the inside. Ensure the inner piece extends from the top of the pool wall to the base at the bottom.
Create at least 4 bracings for each side and secure them to the inner 2' by 4' wall bracing.
Connect the walls by either screwing them together directly or using corner blocks to join them. The former method is simpler, requiring only long screws.
Secure the pool walls to the floor using numerous screws, both from the braces and the walls themselves.
Place the pool liner inside the connected pool walls, then affix 1' by 4' or 1' by 3' boards to the top of the walls to secure the plastic.
Fill the pool with water.
Pool construction is complete.
Helpful Tips
- Consider using a pump to fill the pool, although it's not mandatory, it helps maintain cleanliness.
- To prevent rapid deterioration, either treat the pool with chemicals or explore alternative methods like UV treatment.
- Adding plywood to the pool floor may offer some benefit, but its effectiveness is questionable.
Cautions
- Be cautious of the water pressure, especially in deeper pools, as it can exert considerable force on the walls, leading to potential collapse.
- Water leakage can occur, necessitating cleanup to prevent damage to the pool floor.
