In the current context of integration into the market economy and international openness, the role and position of the national cultural identity are increasingly affirmed and closely tied to the responsibility of the younger generation. As the future owners of the country, Vietnamese youth have been and are showcasing the national identity through positive actions. Despite the influence of foreign cultures, many young people still embrace traditional values deeply rooted in the national identity, such as folk games, traditional cultural forms like ceremonial music, and, notably, actively promoting the image of Vietnam to the world. In the Ethnic Costume segment, Miss H'Hen Nie shone brightly with a costume inspired by traditional bread, carrying pride in our country's agricultural achievements onto the international beauty stage.
However, alongside this, in today's society, we still easily encounter young people living a lifestyle detached from the national identity. They are indifferent to both material and spiritual traditional values, and they prioritize imported cultural values through idolization and excessive emulation. For instance, young people casually incorporate foreign languages into Vietnamese, creating expressions that are hard to understand and affecting the purity of the Vietnamese language. These actions have unintentionally negatively impacted the preservation and promotion of the national cultural heritage.
The younger generation needs to be aware of the role and significance of the national identity to elevate the spirit of preserving these valuable traditions. Simultaneously, there is a need to cultivate a positive lifestyle, actions consistent with the good moral traditions of the nation, preserving and promoting the unique values deeply rooted in the national identity. We also need to condemn and criticize activities that undermine the national identity, adopting a strong stance to counter and eliminate unhealthy cultural activities spreading rapidly in today's society.
Therefore, the younger generation plays a significant role in preserving and promoting the national cultural identity. As students born and raised in the cradle of the national identity, we need to make efforts and strive in our studies and labor to become good citizens, contributing to the construction and protection of our homeland and country.
