Phrozen Safe USB is a familiar program for those who frequently use USB drives. Its main function is to control the copying process via USB to minimize unwanted copying from the computer to that USB drive.
Guide to Prevent Data Copying via USB using Phrozen Safe USB
Step 1: First, you need to download and install Phrozen Safe USB on your computer. If you don't have it yet, you can download the latest version of Phrozen Safe USB here.
Step 2: Unzip and launch the program, you'll easily notice that the program offers various functions:
- USB Devices Activated: Upon connecting a USB to your computer, you can read and write data to the USB;
- USB Devices Read Only: When a USB is plugged into the computer, you're only allowed to read the USB without modifications, no data can be written to the USB;
- USB Devices Disable: When the computer detects a USB, it will disable all USBs and simultaneously all data will be inaccessible.
Here, you choose the option that suits your purpose, then proceed to restart your computer.
Step 3: To ensure secure access and protect data on your USB, you can set a password for the USB by clicking on the settings icon.
- A new window will appear, here, the program allows you to set a password to protect your USB. Check Protect application with password and then enter the password in the corresponding field, press Apply to save the settings.
